Job Description
BCIT’s Geomatics Engineering Technology Department requires a regular (permanent), full-time Instructor to teach a variety of Geomatics courses.
The suitable candidate should have strong communication skills in English and be committed to developing and presenting course material to prepare students for their careers. This position primarily involves teaching into the Geomatics Bachelor of Technology and Diploma programs.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree and / or Professional Land Surveyor
- Minimum of 5 – 10 years of industry experience in several of the areas listed below:
- Practical field surveying methodologies using GPS, total stations, data collection systems.
- Field survey project management.
- Deformation monitoring survey experience.
- Engineering survey experience.
- Cadastral surveying experience
- Survey adjustment routines including least squares and least squares analysis.
- CAD and Engineering software (Autodesk products, GEOLAB, Leica Geo Office).
- Teaching experience at the college / university level
- Ability to demonstrate extensive current knowledge of surveying and engineering practices relating to both field and office work
- A commitment to continued professional development
